How I Used AI Today
I built a ☕ Coffee Coach ☕
Today, I launched a new AI experiment that I’m excited to share — and if you love coffee like I love coffee, this one's for you.
Meet Coffee Coach, my latest chatbot creation built using the Chipp.ai platform. It's a virtual barista, a conversational mentor, and a judgmental Keurig critic all rolled into one super friendly chatbot!
The idea was simple: could I build an AI that doesn’t just tell you how to make coffee—but actually coaches you, step by step, like a friendly expert guiding you through a pour-over, Chemex, Aeropress, or even (sigh…) a Keurig? It will teach you all about different coffee types, roasts, grinders, and ways to make your coffee.
I designed Coffee Coach with a unique system prompt that makes it:
Inquisitive before informative (always asks questions first)
Conversational, never robotic
Adaptive to your level of experience
Encouraging, even if you just discovered coffee yesterday
Brutally honest if you’re using k-cups
Want to learn how to grind beans properly for a French Press? Curious why your pour-over tastes bitter? Wondering what kind of roast would suit your tastes? Coffee Coach walks you through it all—dialogue-driven, step-by-step, like a patient barista who never gets tired of your questions.
What I Learned About AI in the Process
This wasn't just about coffee. It was a creative test of how coaching-style prompting can make AI more human, more useful, and more enjoyable. Most chatbots dump information. I wanted this one to feel like a teacher, not a textbook.
And the best part? It adapts. Ask it about beans, grinders, or roasting levels, and it doesn’t just list facts—it responds like a mentor: “What kind of coffee do you usually enjoy?” or “Have you tried a fruity Ethiopian light roast before?” This is not simple “If this, then that” type of coach. It listens!
It made me think: What if more of our interactions with AI were like this—curious, personal, and full of discovery?
Try It Out Yourself
You can talk to Coffee Coach now at coffeecoach-65253.chipp.ai. Let it walk you through your next cup of coffee—and maybe even help you up your home brew game. Yes, if you use a Keurig, it will judge you (just like the rest of us).
I’ll be sharing more of these “How I Used AI Today” stories in the weeks to come—showcasing ways I’m using tools like Chipp.ai to create more human, helpful digital experiences.
Hit reply or drop a comment if you try Coffee Coach—I’d love your feedback (and your coffee tips!).
Stay curious and keep disrupting the status quo!
